Hair Loss
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”inn-list”]Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually doesn’t cause noticeable thinning of scalp hair because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when this cycle of hair growth and shedding is disrupted or when the hair follicle is destroyed and replaced with scar tissue.
The exact cause of hair loss may not be fully understood, but it’s usually related to one or more of the following factors:
- Family history (heredity)
- Hormonal changes
- Medical conditions
- Medications
Hair is a secondary sexual characteristic, so its primary function is to increase attractiveness. In a 2004 study by Rogain, more than 500 women in the US described loosing their to loosing a limb. Since 30 million women in America — roughly one in four — have thinning hair, there’s a serious portion of the population at risk for an emotional crisis.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
